Elevator to the Gallows is a film that is a sign that The French New Wave was going to go big. From the atmosphere it creates to the renovations in character types, it feels much newer than a classic film noir. Even though characters carry the qualities of the style of the era generally, it is possible to see some to see some renovations in thoughts and the way they live. The film has an absolutely alluring atmosphere – especially with the Miles Davis score. Overall, it is very enjoyable to watch with its realism and lowkey ironies – all the twists, coincidences and honest mistakes. Let’s get into it!
